microFLOQ®
Clinical Field
microFLOQ®
Rapid DNA testing made portable
MicroFLOQ® is an innovative DNA collection tool featuring a micro flocked swab-head co-developed* by French Gendarmerie Forensic Research Institute (IRCGN™) and Copan.
Direct PCR
Forensic DNA analysis
MicroFLOQ® enables you to obtain a 24 DNA markers profile in less than 2 hours, skipping the DNA extraction step. This is possible thanks to the lysing treatment applied on the fibers, which breaks the cells upon contact.
How to use microFLOQ®
Subsampling
Direct amplification of a sample on a microFLOQ® consumes a tiny portion of the specimen, preserving valuable evidence for re-analysis or additional testing.
Subsampling can be performed first on all stains with no additional testing needed if the results are acceptable. If the first results are inconclusive, then the entire sample can be collected and extracted using traditional methods.
Cooperation is in our DNA
microFLOQ® is the result of our hand-to-hand collaboration with the IRCGN™, which led to the patent deposition – now pending.
FLOQ® technology
This Swab is empowered by the FLOQ® technology for superior sample adsorption and release.
Sensitive & cost effective
No extraction step needed; all the DNA collected can be directly amplified. The breaking point makes microFLOQ easy to process with standard 96-well PCR microplates.
Rapid
Time to result in less than 2 hours for direct sampling or subsampling.
On site collection
Quick DNA testing directly on the scene for multiple samples: saliva, blood, semen, sweat, tissues, touch DNA.
Forensic DNA grade
ISO 18385:2016 compliance minimizes the risk of detectable human nuclear DNA contamination in products used by the global forensic community.
